GIVEAWAY: Win A Family 4 Pack for Ghost at the Alliance, 11/2 & 11/9

Suitable for Middle and High School Audiences

October 27, 2019

Castle Crenshaw, a.k.a. Ghost has been running his entire life, but for all the wrong reasons. Then one day he meets Coach, an Olympic medalist who sees Ghost’s unique talent and offers him a life-changing invitation to join the middle school track club. Can Ghost harness his raw gift for speed, or will his past finally catch up to him?

The Alliance Theatre is pleased to present its fall production of Ghost, developed for middle and high school audiences. Based on the popular novel that was a National Book Award finalist for young people’s literature and named one of America’s best-loved novels by PBS’s The Great American Read, GHOST teaches the importance of finding your team. GHOST is playing in the Rich Theatre at the Alliance through Nov. 9, 2019.

GHOST is a part of the City of Atlanta’s Office of Cultural Affairs Cultural Experience Project. The Cultural Experience Project was launched to afford every Atlanta Public School (APS) student from pre-kindergarten through 12th grade the opportunity to experience the city’s premier art and cultural venues. The City of Atlanta’s vision is for every student in APS to have minimally one onsite cultural experience at a cultural venue each year that directly ties to Common Core Georgia Performance Standards and curriculum goals. Teacher and student educational materials further the students’ understanding of arts and culture and complement age and grade-level-appropriate experiences. Through the CEP, all sixth-graders in APS, nearly 3,000, will have the opportunity to see GHOST – making it one of the only cultural experiences offered by the program that is developed specifically for students in their age category.

Performances are available for school groups and home-school groups through November 15, 2019, at 10:00 and 11:45 a.m.  Most appropriate for grades 5-8, and connecting to Curriculum Standards: ELAGSE1SL2, ELAGSE6SL2, ELAGSE11-12RL3, SSEPF3, SSEMI1, SSWH15. Tickets for school groups are discounted. To book your field trip performance, call 404.733.4661 or email.

Public performances for GHOST are Saturday, October 26 at 3:30 pm; Saturday, November 2 and November 9, at 1:00 and 3:30 p.m. Tickets are available online or by calling 404.733.5000.
