The 9th Annual RICE Awards, September 28, 2019

By Kristen Wright Matthews, Editor & Publisher, Macaroni Kid College Park * East Point * Morrow September 5, 2019

At Macaroni Kid College Park * East Point * Morrow, we take pride in our community and believe in serving those who serve us. We go above and beyond to bring awareness of events, news, and information that affects the residents of South Fulton and North Clayton Counties and are very proud to announce that our efforts have not gone unnoticed. We are not aware of who nominated us but were informed that we received quite a few. For this, we are grateful and humbled as our contenders are some of the extraordinary Atlanta-based publications that we read and love, notably South Fulton Lifestyle, Rolling Out, Voyage ATL, Atlanta Tribune, and Atlanta Black Magazine, among others. We congratulate and wish everyone the best, and are just happy to have even been considered for this honor.

The 9th Annual RICE (Rising In Community Excellence) Awards will be held on Saturday, September 28th, 2019 at 6:00 PM at The Atlanta City Hall (55 Trinity Ave SW, Atlanta, GA 30303). A celebration of those individuals who work tirelessly to improve lives throughout Georgia, the RICE Award is given to individuals and organizations who demonstrate keen awareness about community needs and step into the fray, lending a hand and making things better. These citizens have created organizations that serve mankind.

RICE Award nominees are innovative and charitable visionaries who recognize the importance of their presence and contribution to their community, State and beyond. Nominees are selected by a panel of industry professionals, community leaders, and everyday citizens. Each category is about a community leader who has used their position to develop or implement programs that have changed the face of our communities and helped people in innumerable ways. The Carter Unlimited LLC mission for The RICE Awards and their Foundation is simple. "We honor the unsung heroes of the community."
