RITZ Crisp & Thins' New Flavors Are Too Good To Pick Just One

Barbecue or Cheddar makes for the perfect summertime snack

I have been eating RITZ Crackers for as long as I can remember. It was a favorite of my mother, passed down to me and now my own kids eat them and love them just as much as I did as a child. I have to admit, I do not buy a lot of snacks because let’s be honest, most are processed and loaded with calories that will cause problems in the long run. Many do not even taste good. With RITZ, you are guaranteed to get a great taste. After all, they were created with the famous Ritz-Carlton hotel brand in mind and alluded to give consumers during the Great Depression a bite of the good life.

Until now, our family favorite has been the low sodium option. With the introduction of RITZ Crisp & Thins, we have found a new RITZ fave. It’s the perfect summertime snack, and easily accessible at my grocery store of choice, Kroger. I recently started using Kroger Click List, but that’s a conversation for another day.

RITZ Crisp & Thins two newest flavors, Cheddar and Barbecue, are deliciously thin chips, that are baked to pure perfection and not fried. I like this because I limit my family’s intake of fried foods and salt. They are 50% less fat than leading regular fried potato chips, with the same crunchiness and flavor. I’m not saying they are good for you but inexplicably better for you than some of their competitors. It's like eating potato chips without having to clean the greasy, powdery residue from your hands afterward. As the mom of two boys, that's pretty important because sometimes boys are too impatient to grab a napkin, if you know what I mean.

We are a busy family, and they are great for on-the-go. All summer long, we’ve been toting them around to football practice and all of our summer fun activities. My husband and son especially like to keep a bag close when playing their video games or watching television. My husband prefers the barbecue, but he'd eat grilled food every day so I'm not surprised. My 11-year-old son likes the cheddar flavor.

My baby eats them all day long between meals! He likes both of them. Say cheese!

In our house though, we’re torn. Half of us like the new Cheddar flavor, and the other half of us like the Barbecue. Since my family had a hard time deciding, I wanted to know what my community thought. So my little guy and I headed out to East Point Farmer's Market and Food Truck Court on their busiest night, Wind Down Wednesday, a free monthly concert hosted by the City of East Point.

Here’s what they said:

"The cheddar are just cheesy enough."

"Now that's barbecue!"

"I can't decide"

"I can't eat just one!"

"Wait, let me taste that one again!"

"I like both!"

"Well, I've never been one to conform so I like both."

"They're so good!"

"Where do I buy these?"

Even the kids and little babies got their say. We don't discriminate at Macaroni Kid. But, as you see, many were just as conflicted as we are and could not decide between Barbecue or Cheddar

I guess I’ll just have to keep buying both flavors! :-) :-)
