Travel the globe at the third annual Wild World Weekend, a two-day cultural heritage festival at Zoo Atlanta, on Saturday and Sunday, July 28 and 29. The event will highlight the dynamic cultures and rich biodiversity of Africa, Asia and the Pacific, and the Americas with special live performances, family activities, demonstrations and more.
Saturday, July 28: Get into the spirit of Bollywood with Moksha Dance, and be transported to Indonesia and Africa through dance by Sanggar Lestari Indonesia and Giwayen Mata. See stories come to life with the music and movements of Alma Mexicana Atlanta, and be part of an interactive Flamenco presentation by Calo Gitano Atlanta.
Sunday, July 29: Enjoy a special “Dragon Dance” and Kung Fu demonstration from Chien Hong School of Kung Fu. Learn some new steps from ¡Flamenco! Presented by Berdolé, and dance along with the upbeat sounds of Mountain Top Polka Band. Feed your imagination with the music makers and storytellers of Kuumba Storytellers, and feel the island breeze with the melodies of steel drum performers. New in 2018: Enjoy authentic dances by Rosa Bulgaria Atlanta.
On both days of the event, try an ancient art form with origami and paper crafts from The Japan-America Society of Georgia, and hear the tales of local storyteller Deborah Strahorn.
World Tiger Day on Sunday, July 29: Zoo Atlanta will also observe World Tiger Day during Wild World Weekend on Sunday, July 29, with family activities from 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Highlights will include a special Tiger Keeper Talk at 11 a.m.; an opportunity to take a pledge for tiger conservation action; and activities focused on tiger adaptations.
