A Note From Your Publisher

New Day, New Features and more at Macaroni Kid College Park East Point Morrow

Dearest Neighbor,

It’s hard to believe that it is already September. I took over this edition of Macaroni Kid in December 2017 so I am now nine months in - the time it takes to birth a child. Starting a new business is very much like giving birth because something, if not everything is new to you. Whether you’re a first-time mother, or you’ve had five children, there is always something unique about the baby right in front of your face. Products change, trends change, etc. You get the picture. There is always something new to learn. I have learned so much about business, social media, people, and even myself since becoming a Macaroni Kid publisher. And believe me, this is not my first business! It’s not even my fifth. I have always had an entrepreneurial mind so I have tried many things. Some of them have been lucrative, some not so much. Aside from my career in Public Relations for the past twenty years, I have to admit that this has been one of the most rewarding business ventures I have ever embarked upon. I have loved writing since I was a little girl, and I even went on to receive a degree in Journalism - but it’s so much more than writing. As a Macaroni Kid Publisher, I do so much more.

Even though I don’t know you all personally, you touch my lives. I enjoy letting you know about all of the wonderful events and services offered in our area and connecting businesses with you all. I love when I get a message from a mom telling me how much time Macaroni Kid saves her from seeking out events her family will love. My heart melts when I get an email telling me that an article in my newsletter or only website helped her to overcome an obstacle she was having a hard time getting through with her tween daughter. Not to mention, the work-at-home mom that DMs me to thank me for sharing her business and she gained three new clients from my post. I love hosting giveaways and giving you all tickets to events you might not otherwise attend. I really love this gig! I’ve only been in Atlanta for three years, but it wasn’t until I became a Macaroni Mom that I actually felt like I fitted in here. I am grateful to my successor, Kim Bryant for passing the torch; I am grateful to Macaroni Kid HQ for giving me the opportunity, and I am thankful to you, my subscribers - who read my newsletter, click on Macaroni Kid College Park East Point Morrow, or follow /like our social media pages. Please take time to get connected if you aren't already. A lot goes into social media that you do not see in the newsletter, and vice versa.

So back to why I wrote this note. After nine months, I have decided to make some changes. Our publishing date will change from Friday to Sunday (effective immediately) so that you can use it as a guide for the entire upcoming week. I will start including more stories and information about what is important to me, and hopefully to you. By October 1, I will be incorporating stories about local kidpreneurs,, highlighting outstanding teachers, featuring local moms in business through our Mom Boss Marketplace, in which you will read about in a separate article, and a mindfulness section because I meditate. Do you? I hope you like the changes and will keep the feedback coming.

Thanks again for being on this journey with me. Please make sure to tell all your friends to subscribe.
